Hi guys. anyone purchased their Honda NC 700 with Heated grip option?

How much did they cost and do you think they are worth it.

Just awaiting the purchase of My new NC 700S

Looking through the options am considering the grips and the Centre Stand.

Looks like you guys are doing a great job getting all the accessory options together keep up the good work.

I`ve bought the Honda heated grips. Should be getting my NCX on Saturday, so I`ll let you know what I think when I`ve tried them.

From what I've heard, they are meant to be top notch, just a little pricey.

@Jen, bet you can't wait!

They`re not cheap :shocked: but they are supposed to be good.

These are the prices on my invoice and the part numbers.

08T71-MGS-D30 KIT. GRIP HEATERAT £26.75

08T50-MGE-800A GRIP HEATER KIT £280.85

08A30=MGE-800 SUB HARNESS £25.54

Try negotiating though. I got upto 20% off most of the parts.

There is also a possibility some of the part no`s have changed, as Honda have been messing about with accessory part no`s over the last couple of weeks. My dealer said some of the luggage no`s changed 3 times last week!!!!

Yes Matt...........I`m EXCITED. :frantics: :frantics: :frantics:

That is a lot of dosh to pay for heated gloves but I have also heard that they are quality bits of kit. Another option might be to fit generic heated grips for about £50; I did this and then use EXO2 heated gloves for really cold days, they were in the region of £130.

I had heated grips on the bike I just traded in and boy did I miss them this morning (and it wasn't even that cold lol).

I will either be gettiing some more or spashing out on some heated gloves come the start of the winter months

Yeah you're not wrong!!! It was sunny and chilly this morning... but I just 'man'ed up' and dealt with having cold hands lol

But i'm a wimp and want my hands to be toasty and warm haha. I do have a proper winter pair of gloves, but I hate wearing them as i can bearly move my fingers in them and it almost feels like i have no control over the bike. Truth be told if i hadn't just spent so much money on the bike and bits I would rush out and get some now, but as i'm poor I will put it off as long as possible

Absolutely, wouldn't dream of trying to ride all year round without them. Some come with 4 different heat settings, so on mildish days you don't have to have them on the hottest setting, just enough to keep you comfortable :phone:

Believe me , they work.

Mine allowed me to ride 110 miles yesterday. I don`t think I would have managed without them. I took spare gloves with me but both ended up soaking wet, it rained that much. The grips on full managed to warm my hands enough to keep some feeling in them.

The Honda ones were expensive, but I`m glad I had them fitted.

The integrated controller on the left grip makes them look really neat as you don`t even notice they are heated grips. :D

08T50-MGE-800A GRIP HEATER KIT £280.85

I had to buy all 3 components Steve.

08T50-MGE-800A GRIP HEATER KIT £280.85 is just the heated grips, I think.

08A30=MGE-800 SUB HARNESS £25.54 This is the harness that has to be fitted for the heated grips, the sat nav mount and the 12v power socket that Honda do.

08T71-MGS-D30 KIT. GRIP HEATERAT £26.75 This is a relay that has to be connected also.

I can check at Hunts tomorrow if you want because Honda keep changing the part numbers and may have put the 3 parts together now under one part number.

I know it`s confusing (and expensive), but the dealers are just as confused.

It`s a shame they couldn`t fit the R & g ones for you.

Might be worth checking with someone else in case they just couldn`t be bothered to fit them to try to get you to buy the Honda ones. (Call me cynical if you want)

Thanks Jen, if you do get the chance to ask at Hunts I would appreciate it. I specifically asked my dealer if the whole heating unit was included because he quoted me the crazy price of £275, which I knew was low, because I had seen you original post a few days back about this subject, where the whole unit consisted of the 3 parts you have listed. But they also didn't know what the parts numbers etc. were, said they were going to have to 'look it up'.

Ugh, I walked away in frustration in the end. I was pee'ed off that they couldn't put the parts on, I think they were embarrassed (and fed up) that they didn't fit either, and that they had had too cannibalise their NCS to refix my bike...

Thought it was best if we all slept on it, will try again tomorrow... or as they said ...'don't worry we will call once we have ordered the parts...'

Aaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh, lol
