hypnotic 31
Hi guys, I was installing Givi Crash bars and I have over-tighten the screw (I believe it didn’t sit properly in place hence the error from my side), Basically, after trying to come to the tight point, which wasn't happening I suddenly heard a cracking sound. From that moment the screw is rotating freely but I can’t take it out, which is not a problem. However, I am wondering if over tightening of this small bolt could damage the frame? I guess the frame should be made of much stronger metal? I have attached the image of the bolt I am referring to. Thanks Link to post
Tex 36,817
From the pic it looks as though the bolt is through a clamp that sits around the Honda frame? If that's the case, no, you can't put enough force through that bolt to the crush the frame. 1 Link to post
hypnotic 31
Yes, the bolt went through the clamp that sits around the frame. Thank you for clarification. 1 Link to post
