Recalls

My boss has just swapped his Porsche 944 for a Suzuki RG400 so he's back on a road bike, his first in quite a few years. It's very, very nice tbh. We're off to CMC Clay Cross on Sunday where its "Two Stroke Sunday" hopefully he'll get a rosette.

Anyhoo, back to the point of this post. He was telling me, the float and needle valve combination in the carbs was known to be poor at sealing a full chamber. The carbs would flood and deposit fuel into the lower part of the fairing. Suzuki issued a recall, no NOT any carb item  but rather two slightly longer overflow pipes to clear the fairing

We would have called that a "drip tray solution" at work. Don't fix the leak, just shove the fluid somewhere else 😁

Although I suppose the original set up was the drip tray solution🤔

That's why most RG's have a after market glass fibre belly pan, as the petrol leaks destroyed the Suzuki plastic one.

It does indeed have an RG500 fairing on it at the moment - in "Skoal Bandits" colours. White, green, red. Nice. Quite a big bike in the flesh.

And two "auxiliary" fuel taps below the OEM item
