Iron horse 121
Change the rear wheel bearing this week. All ok, by the bearing I was supplied for the scrocket carrier didn't look right. The inner race on the existing bearing is like an extended tube, I.e. Longer than the width of the bearing. I am I right in think a lot of bikes have a collar/ spacer instead that sits behind the bearing? Link to post
embee 7,288
There's a spacer which is a press fit into the carrier bearing, part 9 here https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle/750-MOTO/NC/2015/NC750SAE/Frame/REAR-WHEEL/71461/F_15/2/19331 1 Link to post
Iron horse 121
Thanks for the info. I guess I need to have another look at it at some point when I have time to take the wheel out again. The carrier bearing seemed ok anyhow so didn't change it Link to post
embee 7,288
I think the carrier bearings are pretty durable, can't remember hearing of any specific replacements being required. Quite a few rear wheel bearings have been reported as failing. Link to post
