Guest Flippy1
Hi to All Have a question to ask. Recently purchased a 2013 NC700X & the battery is barely alive. The dash lights up but not enough to turn her over. I am wanting to D.I.Y service the bike so as I have a starting point, as there was no service history with the bike. I have a new battery ordered but concerned that if I disconnect the battery to fit the new one that I might cause a problem with the H.I.S.S programme. My question is : Can I just disconnect the old battery & then connect the new one without upsetting the H.I.S.S programme? I do have both keys for the bike. Is there any special procedure to carry out this replacement or is it just a straight forward battery swap? Kind Regards. Link to post
Dunnster 1,650
Yep, straightforward swap.H.I.S.S. Will be unaffected. Disconnect negative, Disconnect positive, take out old battery install new battery, connect positive, connect negative and jobs a good un Link to post

Wedgepilot 727
I changed the battery on my 2013 bike recently, no issues at all 👍 Link to post
stephenmcg 869
When I had 700x (2013) I had to get a new battery under warranty. the bike was under 8 months and used every day, one Monday it would not start. i took out battery and took it to dealers to test, they called me to say battery was goosed and come and get replacement. So, just take out old battery, get new one and replace, from memory, the only difficult bit is remembering how to reset clock smcg Link to post
