Clutch noise

Recommended Posts

Just had a blat, and when I got back I noticed that when idling with the clutch in, the engine is as quiet as a mouse. However, when the clutch is out you get a slight rumble noise.

Is this anything to worry about on these? It's covered 5k miles.

Other than that - it's a peach!

Cheers.

Perfectly normal, the techy guys on here  will explain👍

Splendid.

Thanks for that buddy.

I am actually quite tech savvy with cars & bikes, so was assuming clutch basket / plates / release bearing noise.

Just wondered if it was an issue on these, as it's present on some makes of bikes but not others - on some it's a pending issue and some not.

How do I add rep for someone on here?

Just get somebody with an older Ducati with a dry clutch and open clutch cover and you will never worry about noises from yours again😀😀

Yeh,

Those dry clutches on the Dukes are as noisy as hell!!

Yes but what a beautiful sound it is, nearly as good as the exhaust note.

I agree and it’s something I miss on the modern Ducatis.

This was the one on my Multistrada

Fantastic photo that Rocker, think I will take the cover off mine and sit staring with a cup of tea later, after the Sunday Roast of course.

That was one of a series of photos I took illustrating the accessories that I had fitted.
