After saturday’s distraction, I gave 750x its first service since 600 mile one at dealer.

god knows who, at dealer, used what, when tightening sump bolt last time. It took serious effort to loosen it.

did not change filter as bike had only done 1500 miles since previous change.

the service manual suggests this anyway.

3.1 litres of oil used. Dipstick indicates just more than half way between marks.

i will check again after next decent run.

chain tension ok

changed clock time

gave bike a good clean

Tyre pressure ok

good for another year

expect a good few trips over to Edinburgh so next year’s mileage should be more normal.

glad to give Glasgow Honda dealer a miss, though I am interested in visiting to ask about their attempted break in over weekend

Good luck with the filter when you come to it.  If the sump bolt was tight....

It took me as whole weekend to get my oil filter off using various different types of oil filter remover tool.  Eventually got the bugger off..

No problems since I started fitting my own.
