Puig touring screen adding extension

Recommended Posts

Howdy

Have a 2nd hand puig touring screen

Wind still hits at about visor so thinking of adding a extender

Question I am using the standard screen bolts to attach puig  touring screen , will these be strong enough for the touring screen and extender

Not sure if a new puig touring screen comes with different mounting bolts or rubbers ?

Or should puig touring screen just use standard screen bolts ?

Cheers Steve

Doubt if anyone is gonna be brave enough to say yes, just in case the bolts fail. I have an MRA screen with extender, which uses the standard fittings and hasn't failed. I don't remember seeing any discussions on changing fixings to accommodate the various screens discussed here either.

Thanks for the reply

Really was interested if any one else had fitted a new puig touring screen to see if it came with different fittings rather than used the ones already fitted ?

I have just fitted a puig touring screen and it came with black bolts to compensate for the tint to the screen where original were chrome. It was only real difference, I have givi hand guards so had to insert spacers to move it forward slightly to stop it fouling when on full lock - worth remembering if mixing makes. So that helps.

Thanks for the replies , just ordered a cheap eeebay special , worth a try

Off to Scotland soon so more wind protection would be handy

I've got the Puig extender thingy on top of the Givi tall screen all with the standard screen bolts. It works fine......

But I'm Captain Cautious, I've never been over 80.....

Fitted extender on top of puig touring screen  , pushes air over top of helmet , feels a lot better ,I'm 6ft btw

Will have to get used to the looks but its functionality over looks for me
