Split pin removal

How do you get these split pin rings out?  I can't see a tool that would help.  A screwdriver is just going to mash up the housing.  It's number 1 in the drawing - it holds the bearing in place, there's one either side - I can't seem to get the picture any bigger

There’s nothing to hold on to. It’s just wire. The YouTube videos are all destructive.

2 fine flat-bladed screwdrivers and a lot of patience?

A 20thou feeler blade wedged into the slot close to the end of the wire then a small flat screwdriver to prise the wire up then if you can grab the end with some needle nose pliers lift and rotate it out completely.
