Parking brake-Cable removal and dismantling/cleaning.

Has anyone got any tips on removing the cable from the parking brake unit on a 2014 DCT NC750X? Last time I had a try it seemed to be stuck. Also has anyone serviced this item themselves? What apart from the pads is needed to do a proper job? Thanks.

David.

Why would you need to change the pads? As they only clamp onto a stationary disc they don’t wear. Unless you’re in the habit of driving off with the handbrake on, obviously.

I might clean up the metal backing (rusty) of the originals yet and fit the new ones later. But that means having to dismantle it all again.

Clean up the mechanism, Wire brush and a bit of Humbrol enamel for the backing plates and they'll be good for another couple of years
