Main stands and exhausts

Does the exhaust have to come off to fit the main stand?

No. At least mine didn’t. It wasn’t a Honda stand.

Seem to remember it was made easier by slipping the silencer off but you don't need to. The biggest part of the job is putting the spring on and if you use a ratchet strap or tie down strap from the back wheel it makes it really easy. Plenty on YouTube.

No. Getting the spring holder stud in is fiddly especially if, like me you have fat fingers, lol. I used a piece of tubing . Put the stud in the end of the tubing and use it as a 'spanner' to get the first few threads going.

All done. Spring was a pain had to get wife to help.

If you've fitted a honda stand make sure you regularly grease the main spindle as they gave been known to seize and apparently they can be a bugger to get out. The spring is really easy if you use a tie down strap from the back of the swing arm to pull the spring.
