Blackmoon181 19
Looking for some opinions/guidance on Honda's use of wellnuts on the NC. Have had a few spin out now which make them a PITA to remove. For those who don't know they are a rubber bung with a brass nut ( probably a better name) . Honda has used them on a number of the side panels and top bodywork. Lesson learned is put antiseize on the bolts beforehand! My NC is 4 years old and has only seen 1 winter. Bar the obvious gripping with pliers / drilling out, any ideas? Cheers Nick Link to post
Spindizzy 7,109
Used a lot on planes as well. When they seize we usually end up using a drill and screw extractor. It either comes out normally or the rubber pulls through or shears off. Depends how sturdy the material is it passes through. Link to post
outrunner 4,457
Can not help I'm afraid, my NC750X is heading for it's 5th winter and I have never had a problem probably because soon after I got it I took the panels off, just to see how hard it would be and when refitting I used wee bit of grease on them all. Also removed the front mudguard (there's a misnomer if ever I heard one) and greased all the fittings on that as well. Andy. Edited November 25, 2020 by outrunner Link to post
