can I use 10W-40 instead of 10W-30?

Honda UK recommend Castrol Power1 10W-30, the motorcycle fully synthetic, do not use car oil, as already stated, it does not like m/c clutches. Stick to what the Man says and you are Always warranted, if the UK importer says it, they back it..........

 

funny, dealer told me that they recommend semi synthetic and originally was such used...

I supplied to the dealer Castrol Power Racing One (10W-30) (available from most Halfords outlets) for my last service.

The bike 'seems' perfectly happy with it and I would even say growls more since it was changed.  

(the growling might have something to do with the K&N sports performance oil and air filters though)

Have modified oil recommendation (thanks embee). Now using most expensive Motul 5W-30. Wouldn't go heavier than 30 now & at least this stuff will remain 30 weight throughout the factory's stipulated change interval.
