    Rear brake and position lights

    Looking at the wiring diagram on page 659 there are three wires,Black/Green is ground and goes to junction G which is a lot of grounds clumped together. Black / Blue is positive and comes from Junction B - lots of switched lives. Black is the stop lamp feed. From the wiring diagrams the NC from 2016 has a LED stop / tail light, so this might be useless to you if yours is an earlier machine.
  4. Hi everyone, A few days ago I noticed that the position light stopped working. The brake light works as it should. I replaced the bulb and still the same problem. I checked the cables from the first plug which is above the rear wheel to the bulb fitting /holder and the cables are ok. How can I check the rest of the wiring? Maybe someone already had such a problem and can help. Best regards.

    Honda dealer can sell you a book. They also keep the record on their database, new Honda's don't have books. I have serviced by own bikes for years. I had my own stamp made, keep the receipts for the parts, put photos of WIP on a memory stick. Padgetts Honda were fine with this, my last bike is currently on their website as "FSH". It's going to be a bit of work, but easy enough to recover (or frankly create). Andy

    Have you tried asking a Honda Dealer? They’ll probably be able to order you a new service book but I expect they’ll charge for it. Seems a bit of a moot point though if you don’t have any of the stamps. I would be more inclined to contact the garage who serviced your bike and asking if they still have copies of the invoices for the work. Could even ask the garage if they have it on the off chance they forgot to give it back?
  7. Grrr. I want to sell my NC750, but I can't find the service record. I had it at the last service, but can't find it anywhere. How can I replace it? I understand I'll lose the service record, but at least I have something to give to the new owner.

    I'd say a battery issue if it hasn't been charged for a considerable time. Charge it up and try again before spending money at the dealers.

    The bearings are known as 6204 size. There are multiple variants depending on the type of cages and seals but the size is determined by the 6204 number.

    not as far as I am aware. Did you keep the old bearings so you could compare the sizing as marked on them as well as the actual sizing. Not every supplier on that auction site is…..reliable for quality, I’ve found that out the hard way.
  12. I wouldn't do anything special, just add fresh fuel, charge the battery and fire it up. It'll either work or not. There are no service kits I am aware of, if they fail you replace the whole unit. Andy
  13. My fuel pump hasn't been used for a while and has been sitting in a dry tank (the fuel hose has NOT been disconnected though). I'm guessing that it either needs servicing or replacement. Can a "servicing kit" be bought (and what would this contain), or would it need to be replaced? A second hand one may not be in a better condition, as my bike only has 13K miles on it. Thanks.

    Bought new bearing on that auction site for 2019 NC 750x DCT vehicle check said they would fit they didn’t! They were loose… are there different wheels on the NC?

    I had an unusually long winter layup this year and only got round to taking the bike out yesterday. Engine started at first touch of the button, which was encouraging - but after backing out of the garage the DCT refused to engage gear. I tried giving it time to warm up and the revs to drop and also did the usual turn it off and start it again. Then I noticed the little orange PGM-FI light was still showing long after start up. I'll have to call the local dealer first thing tomorrow and see what's broken.

    The new ECU needs programming to match the key, otherwise it thinks you are using another bike's key to steal it and activates the immobiliser. Usually a HONDA dealer job because they have the access via their diagnostics. Andy

    History is clean, doesn't look like it was stolen. Interesting if I will change the ECU to a correct one. How it would be with the key?

    That'll do it! Glad you found it. 👍 Anything in the history to suggest it was stolen? ECU replacement is often after some scrote shoved a soldering iron through the case to defeat the HISS. Welding will do it too. Andy

    Ok, found the issue... Looks like this motorcycle had issue and someone replaced it's ECU... And the ECU that is inserted now - is from NC700X. That's why it also does not show selected gear and fuel consumption... Current ECU code: 38770-MGS-D11

    The honour of having the world's shortest and most pointless CANbus is shared by the (I think) last two years of the 865 Triumph twins. The two instruments on my Thruxton - speedo and rev counter were CANbus. Never made much sense to me.

    The sensor is mounted somewhere on the crank, so base of the cylinder/clutch sort of area. It's an inductance type sensor so unlikely to read wrong, they either back off and read nothing or go open circuit. Follow the cable though, any sign of crushing damage? An intermittent short to another sensor will occasionally cause double speeding. I'm also surprised the EM light isn't on, the display is just bling, the real purpose of the sensor is fuelling. What's the fuel consumption like? If it's doing 35mpg it could be something mechanical like the clutch. An O

    How much time and money do you want to spend? Does the bike run OK? If it does, ignore the display and enjoy the ride.
