Derek_Mac 1,404
I was wondering what the water drain plug should be torqued up to after changing the coolant. I can't find the relevant info in any of the available manuals so I was just going to torque it up to the same as the oil drain plug, any other views would be most welcome. embee 7,288
Looking at the manual and the parts fiche, I'm assuming it's item 25 here http://www.bike-parts-honda.com/pieces-honda-detail-61062-61062-NC700XAC-2012-E_14-NC+700+X+ABS+35KW.html . In which case it says it is an M6x12 bolt. Normal torque for an M6 with 2D engagement in aluminium would be 10Nm, but personally I do these by feel. Unless you have a 1/4" drive torque wrench with a range of 0-20Nm or similar, I wouldn't trust a larger torque wrench at these small values. For coolant drain, a drop of pipe thread sealant doesn't do any harm (NOT threadlock). 1 Link to post
Derek_Mac 1,404
Thanks Murray. Yes, it is 25 and I'll take your advice about using pipe thread sealant. Link to post
