Rear brake pads

I have changed pads on many bikes so expected nc700x to be simple. Remove holding pin and slide out pads. On my bike, the pad on near side slipped out but the pad next to pistons appeared to hit obstruction. Is it necessary to undo holding bolt and lift calliper clear of disk? I then opened supplied owners guide and all it gives guidance on is inspecting for wear. Doh. It is my experience that pads in-situ look more worn than in reality. The front pads look as though they will slip out ok with simply removing pin. Smcg in glasgow

Yes I remember taking the holding bolt out--put some new tread lock on and retorque--after you have changed the pads of course
