Graham NZ 1,186
Is it normal for the front brake to make an audible shishing noise when applied? Mine does and has since I got the bike with 4,384km on it. The disc does have signs of wear but checks out as not being warped. The pads may not be original but are far from worn out. The piston moves freely and retracts properly. I renewed the fluid as soon as the bike arrived. The rear disc looks similar but makes no audible noise. Link to post
Jeffprince 4,923
Mine does too! I put it down to the disc vents and profile. Works effectively, though. 1 Link to post

Andy m 23,603
Its the stupid cheese grater holes mostly. Once you have the vibration on the over-cooled disc you need to be either clever, heavy or lucky to avoid noise. The rear is noisy too but the radial location in relation to the axle and bulk between you and it makes it less obvious. Andy 2 Link to post
