Some actual scientific evidence of the comparable merits of using oil and greases. Of note this wasn't an O ring chain they tested so no conclusions there. Spindizzy 7,109 Posted April 22, 2018 Author Share Posted April 22, 2018 From what I read, oil is better for your chain, especially the rollers but grease is kinder to your sprockets. oil preserved more power, though whether you would notice is open to debate. Draw your own conclusions about O ring longevity with either. Link to post
