Guest Scooby_NOOB
I have now clocked up 6382 miles since March this year and bought the bike from the dealer as was serviced before I picked it up. When do I need to get it serviced again? I was told about the 6000mile mark, but not sure? Thank you in advance for your thoughts and wisdom. Scooby Link to post
Dunnster 1,650
If it was serviced in March this year then March next year or 16,000 miles 8000 miles. HTH edited due to inebriation Edited September 23, 2018 by Dunnster Link to post
coopers12345 99
March or after you've done 8,000 miles. 1 1 Link to post
poldark 1,512
How confident are you the dealer changed the oil before you bought? 8k miles or a year, whichever comes first is the recommended interval, but some prefer to do slightly early. You certainly won't hurt by doing it early, easier to work on bikes in warmer weather, so considering doing it in readiness for winter is an option. Scoob_NOOB has a 750 which has service intervals @16,000 miles unlike our 700 which is 8000. Applologies, ignore me to much alcohol. Edited September 23, 2018 by Dunnster Link to post

Since when? As far as I'm aware the service interval remained the same but they extended the interval between valve clearance checks. 3 Link to post
Guest Torq
Service intervals are listed in your owner's manual. Link to post

Guest Scooby_NOOB
Thanks for the wisdom I now know not to ask on a Sunday evening???? ha ha 1 hour ago, Dunnster said: Scoob_NOOB has a 750 which has service intervals @16,000 miles unlike our 700 which is 8000. Applologies, ignore me to much alcohol. Just managed to find the said manual ( i am moving, so not easy!) and it's confusing as anything but it is 8000 miles between services. But have to work out what they serviced??? 1 hour ago, Torq said: Service intervals are listed in your owner's manual. Link to post

But have to work out what they serviced??? Did they not give you any paperwork for the service? In theory they should have done the service based on the mileage/age it was at. In practice I'd assume they did the bare minimum(oil, oil filter change, and inspections) and do a full service. It might seem like it's costing you more but look at it as if you don't do it on this service then you'd have to do it in another 12 months anyway. 3 hours ago, Dunnster said: Yep your correct, too much red wine. You had me doubting myself though 1 Link to post
