Tel 4,712
Afternoon all, Has anybody tried to deal with the downpipe corrosion/discolouring they all seem to suffer from? I bought the 750X a few weeks ago and it was already like it. I wondered if it could be treated or painted with heat-resistant exhaust paint [just to tidy it up]? Cheers, Tel. Link to post
Tonyj 6,907
Up to you but there is a fella on youtube that cleans his down pipes with harpic or sum such . They come up bling . its on an old bandit , it does a good job and he’s not to fussy about where it goes . I would cover stuff up but it washes off fine . I would try a little area first though . Andy m 23,587
It's stainless, just leave it alone, the colour is natural. Anything abrasive will thin the metal, anything acidic or strongly alkaline risks fasteners or anything else close by. Andy 2 1 Link to post
SteveThackery 3,090
You can polish it to a chrome-like shine, but it will soon go dark again. If it really bothers you I guess the only option is to paint it. Link to post
