Jaz 2
Hello All New member to the forum and new owner of 750 DCT 2017 on this model, you can set a welcome message that displays when you turn on the ignition, and an end message when you turn off unfortunately while doing this, I have put in a wrong letter. I cannot find any informational in the handbook telling me how to delete the extra letter or how to reset everything to start again!! Anyone know how to delete the extra letter or reset it? Thanks Link to post
Foxy 4,410
Hi Jaz, I don't know quite how to put this but at 64 years of age what the fu**. I/we are about bikes, welcome messages belong perhaps in an English Lit class. Don't worry about it, only you will see it, and at the end of the day motorcycling is about having fun, not worrying about a letter in the wrong place. Chill out and get the miles in. 😀😀😀 PS. Good choice of bike, hope you picked a blue one? 1 Link to post

Anyone know how to delete the extra letter or reset it? You simply enter the message edit mode again. It will display the currently set message for line 1, and the cursor (which has all segments lit) will sit over the first letter. If the letter is correct press SET (right button) to step to the next letter. If the letter is incorrect just press SEL (left button) to cycle through to the correct one. Continue with this until the message is complete. 2 1 Link to post

Andy m 23,764
Tommy is right IIRC. I was going to change mine to say "Oil low" or "System error" before I swapped it as I know the dealer won't have a clue, but in the end couldn't be bothered. Andy 6 Link to post

suffolk58 2,286
What a brilliant feature. If I had it, the welcome message would be something like "Help, I'm being stolen" and the end message would be "The Police are onto you, there is a tracker fitted you know". On switch on with the Africa Twin, it says "CFR" which I always read as "Café". On changing clocks, on the borrowed Bandit, I managed to also change the speedo to read in KPH. It took me two months to sort it out. 1 Link to post
Jaz 2
I messed about and got it Tried to attach a picture from the manual but don’t know how to do it? Go to message setting, scroll to the letter you want to erase scroll through the letters and numbers etc till the “space” option is over the letter you want to delete press “Set” 2 Link to post
Andy m 23,764
Glad you got sorted. Plan B was electrical tape over the display. Also works on ABS and oil warning lights judging by some of the vehicles I've met. Andy 1 5 1 Link to post
Trev 18,908
It's not a new thing, the dash on my old gixer 1100 gives me a message when I get on it - 'be afraid, be very afraid' Edited October 25, 2019 by Trev 2 Link to post
