Clutch...not NC related...

My Benelli 752S has the most awkward clutch I've ever used, it's very easy to stall because there is very little 'feel' when you release the lever.

It's like an on/off switch.

I know a lot of you have arcane knowledge about various bikes so is there anything I can try?

Or any specialists I can visit?

Any sensible suggestions will be gratefully received [and daft ones laughed at but enjoyed!]...

I would guess it too "low Geared"  i.e. the arm on the engine is too long I bet the press have had a go in the past that previous Benelli clutch was too heavy

As to who to sort  I no idea who  but If it were mine I be looking for a parts book and assuming I could get another arm to play with !

The u tub video I saw when testing the bike commented on the sudden biting point, so it seems it’s not a fault specific to your one but a design fault. I’m not sure that operating arm length affects more than the ease with which the clutch lifts. I’d be looking at how the release mechanism works. It seems to do little for much movement then a lot right at the biting point. Maybe the stack height isn’t the optimum? Hard to say without examining the release mechanism. If it has a slipper/ assist clutch it could be the design of that. Sorry, can’t be much help really without some sight of how it works.

The arm length trades force for travel, so could be a factor. There is also the springs and ramp angle on the shaft. Nothing you can do about any of these without new parts, they are all design stuff.

You can probably move the point at which it viciously bites if there is an adjuster at the engine end.

Anything on a Benelli forums? Maybe a hydraulic conversion exists that might give more power for less sudden travel?

Neil was a good mate of mine at one time. He’s actually Godfather to my eldest. Good guy.
