treedweller 11
Another newbie question, sorry. I searched forums but couldn’t come up with unique enough terms to avoid thousands of irrelevant hits. Book says check the oil with the bike level. Does this mean both-tires-on-the-ground level, or can I check it on the center stand? Since it tilts the back up a bit, I’m afraid it will pool the oil forward and read high. But trying to check it while sitting on it makes it hard to tell if it’s actually level. tia, again. Link to post
ted 5,743
You need both wheels on the ground, get someone to sit on it. 1 Link to post
Slowboy 20,519
Checking it on the centre stand is also OK. The level side to side is more important than front to back. If it really bothers you use a wedge to raise the front wheel so the rear touches the ground. You’ll see there’s hardly any difference. 1 Link to post
skorpion 945
Yes OK on centre stand, as slowboy says don't worry makes no difference if rear wheel is just off the ground. 1 Link to post
