 Hi David, from what I can figure out from a service manual you can improve access to the reservoir by shifting it down the stay that it's mounted on.

Have a look at the screenshot below.

looks easy enough to do presume I still need to remove the side panel ? which is held in place with one bolt or more. take it their is no sign of a manual released in the uk yet for the nc700s ?

If it's between max-min you shouldn't touch it! This is normal and it will go back to max when you'll change the braking pads.
