Guest Paget76
Hi all, Firstly, my apologies if this is a really dumb question, which I suspect it is! Nevertheless: I need to adjust the chain tension, which I've done on various bikes before and shouldn't be a problem. However, on all the bikes I've had before the main rear wheel bolt has had a castle nut and split pin to lock it in place, and I was surprised to see that the NC700 doesn't have this. So, my question is - is there some other form of lock on there to stop the nut loosening that I need to do anything with, or does it just rely on the corect torque holding the nut in place? I just don't want to have at it with a big wrench and end up knackering something... Cheers, Richard Link to post
Derek_Mac 1,404
It just needs the axle nut tightened to the correct torque, which according to the manual is "Rear wheel axle nut 98 N·m (10.0 kgf·m, or 72 lbf·ft.)". Link to post
Guest Paget76
So, have at it with a large wrench it is, then... I still think it's odd not to have a castle nut & split pin or similar - is that a Honda thing? Thanks for the quick response, anyway! Link to post
