ncmf 87
I have to do an oil change soon. I only have a can of fully synthetic left. If I put this in, will it be better than recommended and if so, whats the difference, or should I stick to recommended? Link to post
Guest motorboy
If you are asking If you can mix oIls I asume you mean you have 1 qt or liter left.Only if it Is the same brand, same weight no problem Link to post
poldark 1,557
I believe the only potential issue for using fully synth (in any bike) is that engines need to "bed-in" and fully synth can interfere with that process, so not recommended before you've done a fair mileage (hence my earlier query). So you wouldn't use fully synth at 600 mile change, some people would suggest not until 10k plus, but I've no idea what the correct answer is. Link to post
ncmf 87
Thanks I'm at 23k. I was talking about dropping all the oil and replacing it with fully synthetic. Is there any advantage in fully synthetic? Link to post
poldark 1,557
Well most people would say yes that fully is "better" than semi, others suggest the extra cost isn't necessarily worth paying unless you run a hign-spec engine/bike. But the pricing difference these days seem pretty small, so using fully-synth might be a good idea. Link to post
