Fast idling at start

When the engine is started from cold it idles just fine but if I touch the throttle in neutral the revs don't die down below 2500rpm for several seconds. This seems to go away when the bike is ridden but I'm concerned about not being able to stop as it's DCT. It also doesn't go into gear at >2000rpm. Is this a fault or a 'feature'?

I'm not sure about the number of RPMs, but every vehicle with a catalytic converter revs up for some minutes to get the catalyst to the proper temperature to do its job...

All bikes generally behave like this on start up and not only ones with cat's. It's perfectly normal.

My cars do the same - until the engine is heated up (about 1-2 mins) the idle revs are a bit high. However it's not the case with my current bike (KTM Duke 200).
