(unlike lithium, which need specialist chargers and may not cope with being charged by alternator).

Good luck.

This is so untrue. LiFePO4 batteries are 100% compatible with any AGM charger and charging system. You don't need anything special. Just a plain charger without desulfation / recovery mode.

A "special" charger may be needed when the battery gets old, or when the battery is not manufactured correctly (battery cells must be well matched) to balance the cells.

Some LFP may contain a BMS to protect the battery from undercharging or/and balance the cells, but in general you don't need one. Especially with well built batteries like Antigravity... A BMS it only adds to the complexity...

Usually the source of many problems with LFP batteries is the undersizing of the battery. If you want to use a LFP without problems you must select one with the same REAL Ah (or near the same) as the OEM AGM, and not this misleading arbitrary PbEq Ah / CCA.

The other source is incompatible or problematic charging systems...

Ste7ios, I happen to have an Optimate 4, which is not Lithium compatible for the reason you mention: it hasn't got a plain charge mode.

The brands I've found selling lithium batteries are not reliable or impossible to know wether they are or not, whereas Yuasa is trustworthy.
