  1. The time I almost got to ride with King Kenny. I was in Montana with my brother in laws mother and we went to visits her friends the Andersons. When we arrived at the house I hopped out of the car and some bikes in the garage caught my eye. I looked in and saw a Ducati 1098 and an ST4. The tires on both had the appearance of hard riding. I went in to the house and asked about the bikes. I told Kathryn that I was very impressed by the bikes and said I was a keen biker. She said they were owned by her husband George. She said “It’s a shame you didn’t arrive earlier you could have gone with

  2. The yellow 'speed block' paint scheme is still the 'right' one for a racing Yamaha! Michael Rutter got us a second place in the Post Classic TT last August.

  3. I reckon as a rule of thumb that fork oil deteriorates significantly beyond 10k miles. If you get any moisture at all in there it can smell like a camel's jockstrap, I always suspected it's bacterial but may be wrong, not pleasant stuff anyway, I wouldn't recommend a dab behind the ears on a Friday night if you have any hope of pulling. ...oh no, I'm beginning to sound like Andy .........................

  4. Yes one of the advantages of having a karcher power washer and the sidekick airblaster is that I can put the bike away without exposing it to more salt i have come to the conclusion that the layer you rightly say cannot be removed is ok if it's on good lacquered paintwork but it's not ok if it's on bare metal or metal with any other kind of coating such as chrome or zinc or anodised or paint that looks like it has no lacquer on top (small black brackets and the stands and the swing arm). These need the crud layer removing with an aggressive cleaner and a radiator brush then rinsing and dr

  5. Excellent, thanks for that Callisidirin, will get the cloths and WD40 out later and rub it down, have different stuff for the chain 🤗 Mike5100 at the moment even a jet wash doesn't remove it. Twice now I have done a jetwash (bike is cold) then bought it home and still had to go over it with bucket of soap and hose to remove the white salt marks. To be fair on one occasion the roads were still wet so it was crazy how dirty she got going half mile from jet wash to the driveway!

  6. Decided to take advantage of the clement weather and set about doing a much needed change of my steering head bearings. As I was dropping the forks I thought I'd change the fork oil as well. Didn't much like what came out, smelt pretty rank too. approx 33k miles old.

  7. Just thought you might like to see how a dog bone fares in winter. I can't work out whether it's black paint that has come off or some kind of silver coating that has corroded. It's been quite liberally doused with act 50 and washed reasonably regularly mike

  9. This is a well-known problem and with no solution. I note that you are a fairly recent visitor to this site, with only 39 posts to date. You will find that most members replace the offending part every three or four weeks. Some replace it weekly. The Honda parts number is MC-BROCH- NC750X0216.

  10. My pre ride check is to pat my pockets with my mobile and money in , ride off then stop and do all my zips up etc . :0) I take the" karma "view as to if I'm going to make it , works for those Indians and it's also the fundamental part of the Indian advanced motorcyclist code.
