  1. I used to quite enjoy working on the Heralds. You could sit on the front wheel and do lots of stuff on the engine.

  2. I don't really do servicing on my bikes these days. It's a struggle to even find the spark plugs for gods sake. But I like the idea of getting something basic and simple - maybe a Herald or an Enfield and doing all my own work on it.

  3. God, my Missis has the Waitrose habit and it is blooming expensive! She is always amazed that our local butcher does such good meat, so cheaply - in fact better, much better and cheaper than Waitrose.

  4. There is a skills shortage. They got rid of the respected, experienced, relatively high paid, high job satisfaction mechanics and brought in the vehicle technician. These are lads who failed to get on a degree course in call centre activity and golf history, who dream of being pop stars and hate getting their hands dirty. The boss doesn't know what they do but has a spreadsheet on how long it takes. The main dealers job is selling vehicles. They are barely measured on service performance.   5. I did just that.! Approached 6 honda dealers from south london to cornwall, Told them im a cash customer , no finance no part exchange and if the price is right i will pay a deposit NOW. Some took a couple hundred off and said that was it.Apart from dobbles this was face to face, Farnham honda said they didnt do discounts as he didnt need to (farnham is a very affluent area).I said he obviously isnt hungry, he walked away, so did I.To cut a long story short , i phoned torbay motorcycles got a price straight away of £6300. ! result.!! i went straight down and paid the deposit, I was glad he w
