Had mine done today on a 16000 miles service, apparently they were quite tight,NC750X.

Hi get in touch if you want it done cheaper pm me ! - Nc700x should have valves done at 8000 miles 2nd time at 16000 just done one at 8000 miles and all the valves were tight so yes they do need checking

How do the pads wear out they don't move , it's just to hold the bike ? Have you adjusted to tight in the past and worn the pads out by riding about on them . This is not to challenge you but can't work out how they would wear by any significant amount . On the corrosion front , well it's in a very vulnerable place and I've took a lot more care on this one then the last nc I had . Mine was just like your photos:0) good job they didn't look at it when I sold it , but I think they expect it really. Hope you mot goes alright

I had this problem 2 years ago with valve check at 16000 miles with my transalp, honda wanted £280 so i suggested that i do the service and they do the valves, but i also wanted my book stamped, they agreed to do it for £120 ,and they told me after the work was done that none needed adjustment, .You could try that,

£450?! I'm not surprised you don't want to keep forking out that much! Why don't you do the things you can do, and pay someone to do the parts you can't? Have a word with Mark (Trisaki) who has a motorcycle repair business in West Sussex near Arundel.

As slowboy says, make sure its silicate free! Cost me a new water pump by using standard Antifreeze 😣 I am now using Rockoil, "iced kool" silicate and phosphate free coolant 😉

Just make sure it's silicate free, otherwise the carbon seal in the water pump may fail. Brian

I fitted the genuine Honda centre stand without any trouble with the springs, you do really need three hands though, so taking it off to grease the pin should be easy enough. Andy.

Or Molykote G-807. What's available in UK and in small quantity...

That's the most difficult part of the job usually..............
