  1. Trust only a nice voltmeter to take any measurement, and battery's manual to estimate its status. If you're referring to Oxford Maximizer battery maintainer, I'm sure it's showing more voltage than what it is... It must be lower. For a Yuasa VRLA, 12.3 V is about 25% of its named capacity. Any SLI lead acid battery bellow 50% of its named capacity is too weak. Its time to replace it especially when the winter is close... To have an idea about Yuasa (and Varta) batteries State of Charge (at 25º C / 77º F): 13.00 V = 100% charged (with sulfation stoppped)

  2. If you want to get a second hand sidestand switch, the actual switch unit is common to many (most?) Honda (and many other makes come to that), and the connector plug is very common too. What varies is usually the length of the wires attached to it, and any clips etc on the cable. You can use a switch from a different model if the wires are long enough, or you have the ability to cut/solder the connector plug end from your defunct switch to the replacement. Up to you. The auction site has gazillions of sidestand switches advertised for just a few ££ usually.

  3. Codswallop! Utter tosh! You want to know about reliability ask a roadside patrolman (in whatever colour uniform you choose) they will 100% tell you you're talking out of your arse.
